New year, new hair at ritzy Chronicle Arcade salon

FREE parking and a beer – could a hair cut in the Toowoomba CBD get any better?

Hairdresser Kerry Prendergast yesterday opened a cutting-edge hair salon in Chronicle Arcade.

At Inch Hair Productions Ms Prendergast pays for her customers’ parking at the Neil St Bus Interchange and will serve her customers a free beer.

Also, anyone who spends more than $65 gets a free drink from Bon Amici Wine Bar and Cafe.

Ms Prendergast has been a hairdresser for 11 years, joining the profession straight out of school at 15.

She previously managed Supercuts Hairdressing at Clifford Gardens, worked for a boutique hair salon in Melbourne and taught hairdressing at TAFE South West.

Former Toowoomba student opens gem in the CBD

JEWELLER Ewen Ryley has chosen Toowoomba to raise a family and begin his new business venture – Ryley Jewellery Creations – which has opened in the Chronicle Arcade.

The 28-year-old former St Joseph’s College student spent a number of years refining his craft in Brisbane.

Now, he has returned to Toowoomba to launch his latest venture – his own studio.

The studio opened on Wednesday in a space purposely fitted to create the ultimate “feng shui” to inspire the delicate, unique and much-loved jewellery Mr Ryley has created for most of the 10 years he has been absorbed in the industry.

The jeweller, who described his designs as having a “modern art deco” theme, became interested in jewellery when he was 15.
